Science

Electricity Test on Monday.

Today, we did a quick review.  Answer the following questions due tomorrow.
1.  Name 4 forms of energy.
2.  When energy is stored it is called?
3.  When energy is moving it is called?
4.  Descrive all the energy forms used when a tv is on.
5.  List three items that are magnetic.  Think back to the Bill Nye segment, "Magnetic or not".
6.  Can you ever have a north-north/south-south magnet.  Explain.
7.  How does hydroelectric power work.
8.  Name 3 things not to do during a lightening storm.
9.  How can you make an electromagnet?
10.  Draw, using circuit symbols (switch, battery, light bulb, wire) a complete circuit and incomplete circuit.


Math

We continued to practice angles.  Students are to work on pgs. 128 #2a-j, #136 #2a-f (just measure) and try to complete #132 #2a-f.  Some students are having difficulty measuring angles using a protractor.  Practice is encouraged.   Remember to line up the middle of the protractor where the two lines meet (vertex), then make sure a line is on a zero.  (Note: the zero might be on the top or bottom).  Then, following the numbers go to the other line.

HOMEWORK

ELA

Loser Response:  Do you think Zinkoff is a loser?  Responses need to be in proper paragraph format (at least five sentences: topic sentence, body and concluding sentence).  Need to provide three supoorting details/examples from the novel.  Include page numbers at the end of example.Be specific!  Draft needs to be handwritten.

We began a short biography unit.  Students need to pick their top three Canadians based on the list today.  Short reason justifying why they are in the top three.

Math

We started exploring Angles today.  Students are encouraged to practice making angles and using a protractor.

Science

We worked on our Digital Solar System Title pages on Publisher.  Students need at least 10 images and define three of the following:  Gravity, Moon Phases, Astrology, Equator, Astronomy and Space Exploration.  More class time will be given.

Electricty Test on Monday, May 7th.  A very brief review was given to students.  They were suppose to write in their agendas.  A further detail review will be done each day before the test.

6C don't forget to finish WWII Vocabularly posters and Maps.  Many are still not handed in.
Today, we researched Pearl Harbor.  Questions and crossword due tomorrow.

Chocolate $ for camp is now overdue.

A final total that students need to pay will be given tomorrow.
